In the medieval village of Cartmel you’ll find a friendly atmosphere, plenty of local food and drink, and regular events and concerts at the Priory and the Racecourse.
The nearby market towns of Keswick and Kendal offer regular markets selling local food and artisan crafts and both are known for hosting festivals throughout the year.
The Lake District is home to several theatres staging award-winning plays and performances. Keswick’s Theatre by the Lake, and Kendal’s Brewery Arts Centre have plays and stand-up comedy all year round.
