Lime Cottage

Luxury Lake District Holiday Cottages

Sleeps 4 | Bedrooms 2 | Bathrooms 2

A two-bedroom traditional Lakeland cottage, Lime Cottage has been sympathetically converted and retains many of its original features. Overlooking the shared courtyard, it has the benefit of expansive views over the Leven Estuary.

As with all of our cottages, Lime has some amazing window spaces – particularly in the ground floor bedroom and lounge/dining areas. The bespoke kitchen has stunning curved cupboards featuring crystal door handles and is an absolute pleasure to cook in. Lime is partially upside-down so you walk out from the landing to the patio that houses the hot tub, barbecue and outdoor furniture.

Luxury Lake District holiday cottages: interior and exterior layout

Our six luxury Lake District cottages are located on the southerly edge of the National Park. They are tucked away on the outskirts of Backbarrow village, just a couple of miles from Newby Bridge and a short drive to the South Lakeland towns of Ulverston, Windermere and Kendal.

The pictures do not do the cottage justice! The view over the valley was breath-taking. Everything was excellent! The accommodation was better than described, and the price was exceptionally fair considering the facilities.

Stayed for a week at Lime cottage with my partner over Christmas. What a beautiful place to stay.

They really have cut no corners when doing this project. So much thought has been put in to ensure a perfect day.

Decorated beautifully for Christmas, we received a warm welcome on arrival.

We will definitely be coming back to Bigland! Many thanks for a fantastic Christmas.

From the moment we arrived at Lime Cottage we were made to feel welcome.

The cottage was everything we expected and more.

This weekend was a relaxing one shared with good friends. Great location, just a short walk to Cartmel and other villages. We will be coming back to Lime Cottage!

Gemma, Lindsay and Jennifer

Had a lovely stay at Lime cottage for the half term break.
It had everything that we needed and although the weather wasn’t great for the majority of the week we still found plenty to do!
Orrest Head in Windermere is well worth a visit, even on a cloudy day the views were incredible. The cottage was a very cosy place to stay whilst Storm Desmond was taking its toll on the area, a very romantic setting which was just what we needed.

Will definitely be back again.

An exceptional cottage in a fantastic location. The Cottage is well fitted out and comfortable. Underfloor heating wonderful at this time of year and it’s log burner made the room glow.

The little extras that Lindsey and Andrew have ready for guests on arrival make a real difference and makes you feel very welcome. Ground staff very helpful too. We will be back. Thank you
